About The Position

Join the VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital Team! We are a busy 6 - 7 doctor, AAHA Accredited hospital that values each team member's individual skill and personality. The Technician Team Leader trains, supervises and assists technicians to plan, coordinate and perform a variety of duties concerned with animal health and client education and to promote VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital. This position also encompasses all the duties of a veterinary technician. The Technician Supervisor or Team Leader is under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager with support and input from the Medical Director. We are passionate about supporting Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants and are committed to your continuing education and career development. Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Certified or Registered Technician status or equivalent practice experience of at least 5 years.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong medical skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Human resources knowledge.
  • Experience with scheduling staff.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Goal oriented.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and high levels of stress.

Responsibilities

  • Train, supervise and assist technicians in their duties.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform a variety of duties related to animal health and client education.
  • Promote VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital.
  • Perform all duties of a veterinary technician.
  • Directly supervise the team under the Practice Manager.
  • Coach and mentor staff.
  • Assist with interviews.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.
