About The Position
East Brainerd Animal Hospital is excited to offer an opportunity for a Veterinary Technician Student Extern to join our dedicated team. Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, our busy small animal practice is home to a team of seven doctors who are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. We pride ourselves on our positive work culture, characterized by low turnover and a long-standing team that works collaboratively to meet the needs of our community. As a Veterinary Technician Student Extern, you will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, learning from experienced professionals in the field. This externship is designed to provide you with practical skills and knowledge that will be invaluable as you pursue your career in veterinary medicine. The externship will involve a variety of responsibilities that will help you develop your technical skills and understanding of veterinary practices. You will be involved in assisting with patient care, performing routine procedures, and learning about the day-to-day operations of a veterinary clinic. Our clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with shifts ranging from 3.5 to 10 hours, including rotating Saturdays. This flexible schedule allows you to balance your educational commitments while gaining valuable experience in the field.
