As a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the radiation oncology department at VCA SouthPaws, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in advanced veterinary medicine. You will work alongside board-certified oncologists, licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs), and assistants in a leading Patient Cancer Center. This role is designed for those who are eager to apply their training in a specialized field and continue their professional development. You will gain hands-on experience with various treatments including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and electrochemotherapy, allowing you to utilize the skills you have developed in your education while also learning new techniques and procedures relevant to oncology. Your responsibilities will include providing exceptional patient care, monitoring anesthesia, performing radiography, venipuncture, and medication administration. You will also be expected to communicate effectively with clients, advocating for the well-being of the patients in your care. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring flexibility in scheduling, the ability to multitask effectively, and attention to detail.
