Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Graduation from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience within the veterinary field and/or three (3) years of teaching experience in the veterinary field.
  • Currently a credentialed veterinary technician.
  • Current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the veterinary field.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership, supervision, and evaluation for our veterinary nursing faculty.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve the program curriculum and teaching schedule.
  • Monitor student success, implement retention strategies, and maintain an 80%+ success rate.
  • Manage the program's budget, expenditures, and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for AVMA accreditation, including preparing annual reports and self-studies.
  • Teach courses as needed, sharing your hands-on expertise directly with students.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical sites and our Program Advisory Board.
