About The Position

PetVet is hiring an Overnight Veterinary Technician! Our ever-growing practice is looking for exceptional staff to help grow our PetVet Ohana! We seek an outstanding and responsible individual to join our team as a FULL-TIME Veterinary Technician or Assistant for our overnight shift. Our ideal candidate must be outgoing and friendly. We have a culture of continuous learning and growth, and you must desire to learn and contribute to the highest level of medicine and patient care. We are a family-oriented, full-service, multi-doctor small animal hospital striving to create an upbeat, enthusiastic working environment that is client/patient-focused. Requirements

  • Current and valid license as a certified veterinary technician or a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and veterinary terminology.
  • Working knowledge of common animal diseases and their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment, and prevention.
  • Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in all veterinary procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and aseptic technique.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and accept direction on given assignments.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Primary caregivers for the pet(s) within our hospital.
  • Record-keeping and communication skills are a must.
  • Responsible for the safety, care, direct supervision, feeding, cleaning, and exercising of dogs in our facility.
  • Adaptable and able to read behavioral cues.
  • Perform animal husbandry and janitorial tasks.
