About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician. This position is for a Veterinary Technician I (CVT) with a pay range of $23.35 to $33.60 per hour, depending on experience. The hospital offers competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. The role is designed for passionate assistants looking to improve their skills in the veterinary field, particularly in Neurology. The hospital is committed to providing state-of-the-art services and supports its technician team in advancing their careers. The team includes specialized technicians in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Emergency/Critical Care.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
  • Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
  • Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
  • Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.
  • Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
  • Perform call backs and refill medications.
  • Educate clients, gather histories and communicate that to the Clinician.
  • Perform physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters.
  • Be comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture.
  • Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics.
