About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician. This position involves working Sunday through Thursday with 5 shifts of 8.5 hours each. The pay range is $24.50 - $47.05 per hour, depending on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. Competitive shift differential pay is also offered for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. The role requires a passion for veterinary care, particularly in neurology, and offers the opportunity to work with some of the brightest veterinary professionals in the industry. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge base in veterinary care.
  • Motivation to learn and ambition to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience in veterinary technology, particularly in neurology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with anesthesia and critical care.
  • Familiarity with MRI and CT procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
  • Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
  • Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
  • Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.
  • Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
  • Perform call backs and refill medications.
  • Educate clients, gather histories and communicate that to the Clinician.
  • Perform physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters.
  • Be comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture.
  • Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics.
