The hospital is dedicated to providing the best care for pets by working closely with families and their primary veterinarians. The organization is seeking an experienced overnight Veterinary Technician to join its ICU department.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 year of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in an animal hospital setting required
Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community

Nice To Haves

Previous ICU experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring consistent evaluation and monitoring
Demonstrate proficiency in advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate infusions (CRIs)
Perform in-house laboratory procedures
Skillfully place intravenous (IV) catheters
Conduct accurate and detailed patient rounds
Safely restrain fractious and frightened patients
Obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) measurements and maintain medical records
Recognize situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian
Act as an advocate for both the patient and the client
Other duties as assigned
