Requirements

• High school diploma OR GED.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Completion of a veterinary technician program OR 1 - 2 years of experience at a veterinary hospital or clinic.
• Proficient with TPR, vaccine administration, implanting microchips, performing anesthesia, prep, fluid therapy, laboratory procedures, injections, and medication.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in all aspects of AHS' medical services including surgery, laboratory diagnostics, fluid therapy, emergency care as necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications and educate clients on pet care.
• Drive the mobile clinic as needed and participate in events held throughout the Phoenix area and on native lands around the state.
• Monitor vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients in preoperative, operative, and post-operative phases.
• Intubate animals, place intravenous catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer fluids as needed.
