Requirements

Registered as a veterinary technician.
Minimum 1 year clinical experience as a veterinary technician working with dogs and cats.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate and quality patient care while utilizing a low-stress handling techniques.
Proficient technical nursing skills, including but not limited to: venipuncture, catheter placement, administration of oral, topical, and injectable medications, diagnostic testing procedures, triage and basic examination.
Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
Discharge instructions with clients.
Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
Inducing, maintaining, and monitoring anesthesia for procedures.
Preparing patients for their surgical procedures.
Recovering patients from anesthesia.
Utilize monitoring equipment and recognize trends.
Dentistry and dental radiographs.
Pharmacy duties
Processing laboratory samples in-house and preparing laboratory samples for outside labs.
Diagnostic Imaging.
