About The Position

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough, NJ is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding general practice team! Looking for a new opportunity with a positive and fun team? You've come to the right place! Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Hillsborough is seeking a full-time experienced Veterinary Technician to join our General Practice department. Our team is comprised of dedicated veterinary professionals that put an emphasis on making the appointment a positive patient experience. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced veterinary technician to complete our work family. A credentialed technician is strongly preferred but will also consider candidates with extensive experience in a General Practice setting. We are a 'work hard, play hard' family that supports work/life balance. Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 8am - 6pm.

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years' experience as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Excellent veterinary nursing and technician skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Credentialed technician preferred.
  • Extensive experience in a General Practice setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist doctors with all treatments and procedures, ensuring the best quality of care possible for patients.
  • Maintain very high standards of cleanliness and care.
  • Communicate well with coworkers to ensure overall accuracy and satisfaction.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and thrive in a team setting.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Handle and restrain patients gently and with a focus on patient care.
  • Focus on general practice and wellness.
  • Be experienced with vaccine schedules, new pet exams, flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
  • Comfortable with end-of-life appointments and able to conduct unassisted client education in exam rooms.
  • Calculate drug dosages and deliver medications IM, PO, and SQ.
  • Perform IV catheter placement, efficient urine and blood collection, and prepare lab samples.
