About The Position
Islandside Animal Hospital is a well-established 5-Doctor veterinary hospital located in Cape Coral, FL, specializing in the care of canine and feline patients. As the demand for our services has increased, we are seeking to add at least one full-time Veterinary Technician to our dedicated team. This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts, allowing for a comprehensive work-life balance. The role is pivotal in supporting our veterinarians in various clinical tasks, ensuring the highest standards of animal care and client service. The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for a wide range of duties that are essential to the daily operations of the hospital. This includes preparing treatment rooms for examinations, restraining animals during procedures, administering injections, performing venipunctures, and taking vital signs under the supervision of a veterinarian. Additionally, the technician will prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures, assist in routine laboratory tests, and provide care for hospitalized patients. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is crucial, as is adhering to all safety protocols, especially during sterile procedures and radiographic imaging. In this role, the technician will also engage with clients, providing compassionate assistance and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism. This may involve light reception duties, such as answering phones and managing appointment schedules during peak times.
