BluePearl Pet Hospital in Spring, TX is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team on our day shift. The role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. Requirements

  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
  • Ability to perform digital radiography.
  • Strong understanding of vital signs and medical math.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and catheter placement.

  • Passion for mentoring and training.
  • Experience in emergency veterinary care.

Responsibilities

  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Proficiently perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Mentor and train other co-workers.
  • Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
