As a Cardiology Veterinary Technician, you will be an essential part of a team providing top-tier care for pets facing heart disease and cardiac conditions. You will assist with advanced cardiac diagnostics, position and monitor patients during procedures, and communicate effectively with clients. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting; cardiology experience is appreciated
  • CVT/LVT/RVT licensure preferred
  • Strong proficiency with patient monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and cardiac diagnostics
  • Solid understanding of veterinary medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
  • Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A commitment to providing exceptional patient and client care

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with advanced cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiograms, ECGs, and radiographs
  • Positioning, sedating, and monitoring patients during procedures
  • Preparing patients for cardiology appointments, including reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and diagnostics
  • Administering and monitoring medications, ensuring safe and accurate patient care
  • Communicating effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and supporting seamless case management
  • Collaborating closely with board-certified cardiologists and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Supporting other hospital teams as needed once Cardiology duties are complete, including assisting with anesthesia or emergency tasks when applicable
