About the position

As a Veterinary Technician Assistant – Cardiology at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (MVA), you will support the cardiology team in delivering efficient, compassionate care through advanced diagnostics, appointments, and follow-up support. This role involves assisting with patient appointments, diagnostic procedures, medication administration, and providing patient care responsibilities. You will work in a fast-paced, supportive environment alongside board-certified cardiologists and a highly experienced team, contributing to the mission of improving the lives of pets and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient appointments, including obtaining histories and supporting exams
  • Help with diagnostic procedures such as echocardiograms, ECGs, and thoracic radiographs
  • Restrain and handle canine and feline patients safely and confidently
  • Assist with medication administration, patient monitoring, and outpatient treatments
  • Provide patient care responsibilities including husbandry, laundry, walking dogs, and cleaning kennels
  • Communicate with clients clearly and compassionately, including patient updates and discharge instructions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and shared areas
  • Help stock supplies and assist with department scheduling and patient flow
  • Accurately document care and communication in medical records

Requirements

  • Experience with basic animal handling
