About The Position

Mountain View Veterinary Surgery (MVVS) is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Certified Veterinary Technician who thrives in advanced surgical and anesthesia environments. As part of the Veterinary Specialty Center — Southern Colorado’s premier referral hospital — our collaborative team includes specialists in internal medicine, dentistry, allergy and dermatology, orthopedic surgery, and 24-hour emergency services. At MVVS, we manage some of the region’s most complex and critical soft tissue surgical cases, and our technicians play a pivotal role in patient outcomes. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a technician who is confident, detail-oriented, and passionate about practicing at the top of their license. You will be an integral partner in advanced surgical care, responsible for: Developing and executing anesthetic protocols for complex referral cases Inducing, maintaining, and closely monitoring general and regional anesthesia Operating and troubleshooting advanced anesthetic and monitoring equipment ECG monitoring, capnography, blood pressure monitoring, and blood gas analysis Placing IV catheters and managing fluid therapy Maintaining strict sterile technique in a high-level surgical setting Assisting in complex soft tissue surgical procedures Providing detailed patient assessments and accurate medical documentation Communicating clearly and confidently with surgeons and specialty teams At Mountain View Veterinary Surgery, our technicians are not just support staff — they are essential clinical partners. Requirements

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required
  • 2+ years of surgical and anesthesia experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of anesthetic pharmacology and monitoring
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to anticipate needs in the OR
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work full, energetic shifts in a fast-paced referral setting
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted and more with assistance

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing anesthetic protocols for complex referral cases
