About The Position

Provide friendly, quality client care to the patients and clients of Premier Veterinary Medical Group. The Client Service Representative position is to cover our late night weekend shifts: Friday 4pm-12am, Saturday 4pm-12am, Sunday 4pm-12am.

Requirements

  • Possession of strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and operating instructions.
  • Knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology.
  • Strong client service skills and ability to communicate with pet owners.
  • Ability to work independently and accept direction.
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming calls of varying content and client/patient needs.
  • Provide knowledgeable sub-professional advice concerning the care and treatment of animals.
  • Follow established hospital policies and procedures in referring clients for immediate treatment of their pets when requests are accompanied by complaints of acute symptoms.
  • Determine nature of injury/illness and attempt to reassure distressed pet owners.
  • Determine whether immunizations and/or tests are current and recommend updates when applicable.
  • Schedule appointments, obtaining all necessary data concerning the patient and owner.
  • Prepare to receive appointments by retrieving client records and preparing needed forms in advance.
  • Check clients in and greet them in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Discharge patients and review charts for completeness of information.
  • Assure that all financial obligations are met by owners and collect client fees.
  • Perform over-the-counter selling of specialty merchandise.
  • Fill veterinary prescriptions with appropriate medication and provide routine instructions to owners.
  • Collect lab specimens from pet owners and match patient records to samples.
  • Assist in updating client files with accurate contact information.
  • Follow-up with clients when clinic records indicate no recent visits.
  • Enter data into the computer system and retrieve/modify computerized records.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties including sorting and distributing mail.
  • Work well with all employees and ensure that actions support the hospital and practice philosophy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
