About The Position

West Hills Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is a full-service veterinary hospital providing high-quality medical, surgical, and emergency care to companion animals in the Huntington, NY community. Our team is dedicated to compassionate client service, collaborative teamwork, and exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, professional environment. We are seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our clients and patients. This role is critical to ensuring a positive client experience while supporting the medical team through accurate communication, scheduling, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy veterinary hospital, including emergency settings. Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist , medical receptionist, or customer service professional preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer proficiency; experience with veterinary practice management software is a plus
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

Greet clients and patients warmly, in person and by phone
Schedule appointments, check patients in and out, and manage the daily calendar
Answer multi-line phones, route calls appropriately, and handle client inquiries
Process payments, invoices, and medical records accurately
Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
Handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
