About The Position

Nease Animal Hospital is a well-established, fast-paced and high quality 3 doctor small animal practice in Saint Augustine, FL. We are looking to grow our team and support more patients in our community. We are proud to have provided top-quality pet care for over 6 years, and our online reviews boast about our friendly and caring approach. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients, which include (but are not limited to) wellness and holistic care including acupuncture, soft tissue surgeries, dentals, and more! Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, closed weekends.

Requirements

  • Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital.
  • Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator.
  • Highly organized and possess computer skills.
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset.
  • Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all office administration procedures.
  • Order and manage inventory.
  • Coordinate schedules and resolve conflicts among office staff members.
  • Train staff members and manage their performance.
  • Answer pet owners' questions regarding clinic policies, appointment availabilities, and treatment costs.
  • Make recommendations to the veterinary regional manager concerning personnel matters.
  • Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard appropriate staff members.
  • Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community.
  • Resolve informal employee complaints and maintain effective employee-management communication.
  • Prepare employee work schedules and manage the office staff.
  • Establish inventory control system and maintain adequate stocks of supplies.
  • Manage and implement hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA.
  • Ensure payroll is completed accurately and timely.
  • Establish good relationships with vendors.
  • Promptly notify the appropriate veterinary staff of emergency cases.
  • Interview suitable office staff candidates and provide training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
