About The Position
We are looking for a positive, friendly, and experienced veterinary kennel assistant to join our team at Yorba Lake Pet Clinic in Yorba Linda, CA. This position can be part-time or full-time, with a starting pay of $16 an hour. The ideal candidate must have experience with animals, as this role involves direct interaction and care for pets in a veterinary setting. Resumes and references are required for consideration. The veterinary kennel assistant will assist the veterinarian in various tasks and must demonstrate respect for others and be a team player. The role requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs, as well as assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel. Responsibilities include feeding, watering, and exercising dogs, cleaning kennels, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Additionally, the assistant will administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or supervisor and monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor. Customer service duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing information to pet owners are also part of the job.
