About The Position

We are seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant/Animal Caretaker who possesses a cheerful disposition and a willingness to learn about and work with animals. As a Veterinary Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include providing daily care, feeding, cleaning, and exercising boarding and hospitalized pets. Our facility is a full-service hospital that offers medical care, surgery, dentistry, boarding, and grooming services. The ideal candidate will assist technicians, receptionists, and veterinarians while ensuring the hospital maintains high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. You will be responsible for monitoring the status of pets, observing any signs of stress, and reporting changes in their eating or elimination habits to the veterinary staff promptly. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to follow proper feeding and sanitation protocols. This position is fast-paced and requires physical stamina, including heavy lifting, bending, and being on your feet for most of the day. The cleanliness of the hospital and the comfort and health of the animals are top priorities. You will receive cross-training to work in various roles within the hospital, and weekend availability is a must. Client services, office procedures, and effective communication with clients are also integral parts of this role.
