We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Veterinary Imaging Operations Coordinator with a proven track record of success to manage and coordinate the diagnostic team’s agenda in our fast-paced and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging department. Position Overview: The Imaging Operations Coordinator plays a critical "air traffic control" role within the Diagnostic Imaging department, with a primary focus on the ultrasound service. This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the daily ultrasound schedule, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal delays. Key responsibilities include communicating with physicians and other departments to obtain and manage sedation documentation and protocols, assisting in the sedation of patients, and accurately calculating drug dosages. The technician must keep the schedule on track throughout the day, proactively resolving conflicts and adjusting plans as needed in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with at least 2 year of experience in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
  • A genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Diagnostic Imaging is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately calculate, prepare, and administer sedation medications
  • Continuously monitor and record vital signs (HR, BP, RR, SpO₂)
  • Interpret patient response to sedation and adjust care as needed
  • Assist and mentor team members through sedation protocols
  • Support radiologists and sonographers during ultrasound and radiographic procedures
  • Restrain and position patients safely and effectively
  • Manage transport of patients to and from imaging
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs and operate imaging equipment with attention to safety and quality
  • Perform IV catheter placement, IM/IV injections, and assist with emergency intubation when needed
  • Preparing any additional equipment needed if additional procedures are requested (i.e. FNA, anesthesia equipment, SUB Flush, etc.)
  • Manage imaging data: enter requests, upload reports, handle PACS and billing
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment and workspace according to hospital protocols
  • Knowledge of patient care standards in support of providing the highest level of medical case management.
  • Coordinate and manage the ultrasound schedule throughout the day while also coordinating with other modalities within the department.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to prevent delays and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Adapt quickly to schedule changes and last-minute imaging requests
