About The Position

Overnight Veterinary Technician Assistant – ICU (Surgical Specialty Practice) Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) – Annapolis, MD We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Veterinary Technician Assistant with prior veterinary experience to join our busy surgical specialty practice and provide overnight care for our ICU patients. Our Annapolis location is housed in a 28,000 sq. ft. specialty veterinary facility, sharing space with internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, and a 24-hour emergency clinic—offering a dynamic, collaborative, and high-level medical environment. This role is ideal for a highly motivated Veterinary Technician Assistant with strong clinical skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. Schedule Overnight shifts between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Monday–Friday Three 12-hour shifts per week

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant experience
Strong patient care and monitoring skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records and treatment sheets
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance

Responsibilities

Assist in the care and monitoring of postoperative and critical surgical patients
Support RVTs and surgeons in the ICU
Accurately document patient care using electronic treatment sheets
Use computers confidently for medical records and communication
Maintain high standards of patient care, communication, and teamwork
Work independently and efficiently during overnight shifts
