About The Position

The Hospital Manager at Highland Animal Hospital is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the veterinary hospital, ensuring efficient and effective support from the hospital team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health science, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Five years of direct office management experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and organization-specific software.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze financial information quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage compliance regulations and requirements of the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the staff within all hospital support departments and achieves labor goals.
  • Hires and trains office and technical clinic support staff, responsible for new hire paperwork.
  • Orients and trains new clinic staff to the hospital and their duties.
  • Reviews work performance of direct reports, delivers feedback, and resolves personnel issues.
  • Conducts timely performance appraisals and documents accidents.
  • Writes policies/procedures relating to technical aspects of the hospital and presents for approval.
  • Manages schedules for technical and administrative staff and coordinates with the DVM.
  • Monitors Workforce Management for missed punches and overtime hours.
  • Administers daily operations and ensures compliance with administrative responsibilities.
  • Monitors budgets, purchases equipment and supplies, and oversees facility maintenance.
  • Submits contract veterinarian invoices and ensures invoice accuracy.
  • Assists in resolving issues with pet owners as appropriate.
  • Reviews revenue, labor, and employee issues with PetVet leadership weekly.
  • Responsible for local accounting functions and ensures financial accuracy.
  • Oversees inventory management and documentation systems.
  • May establish and oversee billing practices and maintain billing accuracy.
  • Maintains compliance of current licensure and updates licenses for DVMs.
