About The Position

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is a new, state-of-the-art facility that opened in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. We are seeking an ER Inpatient Technician who is personable, self-motivated, and strong communicators with excellent organizational skills. In this role, you will assist with a variety of daily tasks while collaborating closely with all departments across the hospital.

Requirements

• Three years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital.
• One year or more of experience working as an ER inpatient technician.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

Nice To Haves

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT).
• Prior experience working in an Emergency Hospital as an Inpatient Technician in an Overnight role.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for hospitalized patients deemed stable according to the veterinarian's evaluation and RBVH's defined levels of hospitalization.
• Assess patients and facilitate treatments under the direction of the supervising veterinarian.
• Maintain excellent communication with the supervising veterinarian and address concerns with patients as they arise.
• Work with all doctors, technicians, and assistants to perform diagnostics and execute treatment plans for hospitalized patients.
• Monitor patient status: vitals, mentation, pain score.
• Perform nursing procedures: phlebotomy, IVC/IVF therapy, cystocentesis, urinary catheter care, medication administration (oral, topical, injectable), restraint, in- and out-patient care, abdominocentesis/thoracocentesis/pericardiocentesis, oxygen cage operation, transfusion therapy, PICC line care, recumbent patient care, feeding and sampling line care.
• Triage, sedation/anesthesia monitoring, recognize CPA & initiate CPR.
• Record keeping, equipment operation, stocking and cleaning, aftercare.
