Responsibilities

  • Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling appointments.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm and organized manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, including referral documentation and previous medical history.
  • Assist clients by providing necessary instructions, information, and invoices, and dispense prescription items as per veterinarian's instructions.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  • Manage the financial needs of the hospital by maintaining accurate balances through collection of client transactions, following cash and credit card handling procedures, and adhering to proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with clients.
  • Advocate for pets through client education on preventative care, health needs, treatment recommendations, and hospital services/procedures.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and teammates.
  • Demonstrate empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  • Utilize standard office/business equipment effectively.
  • Possess knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  • Work a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and critical thinking abilities.
