About The Position

Are you a criticalist who would love to work at the beach and be a part of an exciting and rapidly growing program? If so, Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina wants to hear from you! As the only 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in coastal North Carolina, we have a high caseload of critically ill and injured patients. Our team is expanding, and we are looking to hire a Criticalist to further develop our Emergency & Critical Care Service. If you have always wanted to have your dream job at the beach, this is your opportunity to do so in a collegial and collaborative environment. Our team consists of 10 full-time emergency veterinarians who work in conjunction with specialists in surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation, ophthalmology, and radiology. We are moving to a brand new 32,000 square foot state of the art facility. We are equipped with an MRI, 2 digital radiography units, ultrasound, a 118-slice GE CT scanner, flexible endoscopy, Snyder oxygen cage banks, full in-house IDEXX lab systems, arthroscopy, and a ForceTriad Electrosurgical Unit. The right individuals will have a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-oriented environment with focus on excellent patient care and communication with clients and referring veterinarians. We offer opportunities to participate in paid studies through our parent organization's research branch, Ethos Science. Our focus is to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and clients while maintaining a balanced quality of life.

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Board certification in emergency and critical care or eligibility for board certification
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
