About The Position
The Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine (CBEAM) is a specialized veterinary hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care for birds and exotic animals. Located near Seattle, WA, CBEAM offers both scheduled appointments and 24-hour emergency care, making it the only exotic-exclusive hospital in the area. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by veterinarians with advanced training in exotic animal medicine, ensuring that all species of non-traditional pets receive the highest quality of medical attention. As a Veterinary Assistant at CBEAM, you will play a crucial role in the hospital team, working directly with patients and clients while supporting the veterinarians in their duties. Your responsibilities will include taking detailed medical histories, providing appropriate diets, restraining animals during exams, and assisting with diagnostic tests. You will also be responsible for monitoring hospitalized patients, maintaining surgical instruments, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for animal care. This position requires a commitment to working with a variety of species, including birds, small mammals, and reptiles, and may involve exposure to allergens and cleaning chemicals. The Veterinary Assistant will be expected to maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients, ensuring that all care instructions are clearly conveyed.
