About The Position

Join the VCA Amor Animal Hospital Team! We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Location: 8576 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84088 Schedule: 8-hour shifts (M-F) and rotating Saturdays are required. VCA Amor Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary facility located in West Jordan, Utah. We have been serving our local community—West Jordan, Taylorsville, West Valley, South Jordan, and Kearns—for over twenty years. We treat cats and dogs. We are proudly AAHA accredited, we have three full time DVMs. Teamwork is constant in our daily practice, and our team is dedicated to make it their mission to help pets live long healthy lives. To be true to this mission, we rely on teamwork. Each team member is equally important in helping our patients and clients.

Requirements

• Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals.

Nice To Haves

• Veterinary Technician license.
• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities

• Support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Win the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience.
• Perform physical examinations and patient assessments.
• Monitor anesthesia.
• Prepare for and assist in surgeries.
• Assist in dentistry procedures.
• Conduct radiology and laboratory work.
• Perform venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Manage pharmacy tasks.
• Aid in patient recovery.
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
