About The Position

VCA Animal Medical and Dental Group is an AAHA-accredited practice in Manhattan Beach, CA. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Location: 1401 N Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 We pride ourselves on our dedicated and compassionate staff as well as our team of amazing veterinarians. Team members who have a strong desire to learn and great communication skills are a must. Veterinary assistants have the opportunity to be a part of providing excellent customer service while working alongside our veterinarians within a great learning environment. We are seeking highly organized individuals with strong multitasking, time management, and customer service skills. This position involves heavy communication with doctors, technicians, the front office, and the clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Also, current experience (within the last 2 years) in veterinary medicine, either as a DA, CSR, or veterinary technician, is highly recommended. Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients (obtain histories, discharges, euthanasia appointments.
  • Create and present estimates for hospitalization and procedures
  • Help maintain the flow of the doctor's schedules & appointments.
  • Create treatment sheets per doctor's instructions
  • Fill prescriptions to go home with clients
  • Send and receive emails, or text messages
  • Manage daily tasks for assigned doctors.
  • Ensure patients are clean and comfortable before being discharged
  • Must be able to handle a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Multitask and prioritize cases and daily duties
  • Maintain excellent time management skills
  • Communicate and collaborate in a team environment / A team player attitude!
  • Animal Restraint while treatments are being done or meds administered.
  • Assist Technicians/RVT’s and Doctors with other tasks as needed.
