About The Position

We are a surgical referral practice seeking a veterinary assistant to join our practice. Previous veterinary experience is preferred. We are seeking an individual who can multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor in a sometimes-stressful environment. You must be flexible and willing to take on diverse responsibilities, with a desire to grow professionally. The ideal candidate is a confident team player who is excited to advance their veterinary surgical and medical knowledge and is willing to provide input and ideas based on knowledge and prior experience. Requirements Duties: The responsibilities of a Veterinary Assistant in our practice are to assist our surgeons and veterinary nurses/technicians with the daily operation and cleaning of our facility. This includes: Assisting with patient treatments, husbandry, and restraint General cleaning of the hospital and turn over of the operating room in between surgeries. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Computer and typing skills
• Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
• Lifting and carrying patients and equipment up to 50 lbs unassisted and ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
• Availability to work 30-35 hours/week, Tuesday through Friday (Fridays and Wednesdays are a must)
