Hawks Prairie Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant! Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Veterinary Medication Clerk’s License
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence in multitasking in a fast-paced setting
- Willingness to work weekends (Saturdays only—on a rotating schedule)
- Reliability, professionalism, and a big heart for pets and people
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Greeting pets and their humans with warmth and professionalism
- Assisting veterinarians and licensed techs with exams, treatments, and surgeries
- Preparing and maintaining clean surgical and treatment areas
- Helping with radiographs, lab samples, and pharmacy duties
- Educating clients on post-visit care and medications
- Keeping records accurate, detailed, and up-to-date
- Pitching in with hospital cleanliness and day-to-day operations
