About The Position

VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital, located in Berwyn, IL, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to become part of our close-knit, patient care team! Snapshot of the Role: Whether you are a seasoned Veterinary Assistant or a Veterinary Assistant in training, we want you to use the knowledge that you've invested your time and talent in. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to: Providing support to the entire veterinary hospital staff Ensure there is a clean, comfortable environment for patients and clients Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations Keep accurate records and logs Sterilize equipment Observing patients for obvious signs of health concerns and reporting any findings to senior staff Plus so much more! Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10 hour shifts.. Compensation: $ 17 - 19 / hr The starting range for Veterinary Assistants is based on skill set, knowledge, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician Program.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality care and client service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the entire veterinary hospital staff
  • Ensure there is a clean, comfortable environment for patients and clients
  • Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked
  • Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
  • Keep accurate records and logs
  • Sterilize equipment
  • Observing patients for obvious signs of health concerns and reporting any findings to senior staff
