Our team is made up of dedicated veterinarians, licensed technicians, and support staff who treat every patient like family. Monday–Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM At Santee Animal Hospital, we believe in top-quality medicine delivered with kindness, clear communication, and a smile. Whether it’s a wellness visit, an unexpected illness, or just a nail trim, we’re here to make sure tails keep wagging and cats keep purring.

Requirements

An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2-years experience preferred.
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Nice To Haves

Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
