About The Position

Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists is seeking a detail oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our growing ER Team! Are you looking to take your patient care and expertise to the next level? Are you an experienced VA wanting to expand your knowledge and skillset while working with a variety of cases? We are a 24/7 Specialty and Emergency hospital staffed with an amazing team of compassionate and experienced veterinarians, highly skilled RVTs and an awesome team of well-trained veterinary assistants. New team members are trained through a mentorship program before working independently. Applicants must have a positive attitude, be a great communicator and an excellent work ethic with 1-2 years working in surgery preferred, but not required. Requirements

  • Applicants must have a positive attitude, be a great communicator and an excellent work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years working in surgery preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Patient assessment, and husbandry
  • Client communication
  • Collecting patient histories & thorough physical exams
  • Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
  • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
  • Providing compassionate care for all patients
