VCA Jackson Animal Hospital is expanding our Patient Care Team and seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant! The Role As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting patient care and enhancing the client experience. Requirements

• Veterinary Assistant experience
• Passion for animal care and a commitment to Fear Free handling techniques
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
• Safely restrain pets for exams and procedures using Fear Free techniques
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites
• Support anesthesia and surgical procedures as needed
• Collect samples and assist with in-house laboratory diagnostics
• Administer medications as directed by the DVM
• Perform basic husbandry and nursing care for hospitalized patients
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
• Educate clients on general pet care, medications, and discharge instructions
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment
