About The Position

Baldwin Harbor Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant! As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a key role in patient care and client service while working alongside experienced DVMs, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, assistants, and receptionists. Requirements

  • Experience working with animals (veterinary hospital experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong multitasking skills and a calm, compassionate presence
  • Team-first mindset with clear, respectful communication
  • Professionalism and tact when handling sensitive or stressful situations
  • Love for learning—we’re happy to train the right candidate!

Responsibilities

  • Care for hospitalized and boarding pets: feeding, walking, comfort, fresh water
  • Keep the hospital spotless: clean/disinfect cages, runs, and common areas; manage laundry
  • Stock exam rooms and treatment areas; maintain supplies
  • Assist with surgical prep and recovery; wrap surgical packs; clean/sterilize instruments
  • Safely restrain patients and assist doctors and technicians during exams and procedures
