About The Position

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll be an essential part of our care team, supporting veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality medical services. You’ll play a hands-on role in both patient care and client communication, always with a focus on compassion and excellence.

Requirements

Previous experience in a veterinary setting preferred
A genuine love for animals and a calm, caring demeanor
Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Client Service : this will be a cross trained position, meaning you will be capable of working at the front desk as well as in exam rooms
Exam rooms : you will obtain a TPR and history to present to the veterinarian, then assist the veterinarian in the exam room to provide any necessary treatments
Patient Handling : not only will you provide restraint for the veterinarian s during an exam, but you will also assist the technicians with sample collection, diagnostic testing and treatments
Record Keeping : accurately maintain all patient records
Housekeeping : work with the team to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the hospital
Pharmacy : know the different medications, how to fill and go over directions with clients
Radiology : assist the technicians in obtaining diagnostic radiographs
Laboratory : know how to obtain and submit samples
Patient monitoring : during surgery and in post-op recovery
