Requirements

At least one year of Veterinary Assistant experience required.
High school diploma or greater
Weekend availability
Ability to lift 30-50 pounds

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, quality customer care to patients and clients
Assist with animal handling and restraint
Determine the status of the patient’s immunizations and tests
Greet clients and their pets and set them up for examinations
Assist in cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital to ensure a great client experience.
Accurately input data into computer software
Some reception work including but not limited to answering phones, responding to emails, responding to text messages, scheduling appointments, checking clients out, confirming appointments and obtaining all necessary medical history
Making outbound calls to schedule appointments for pets that are past due for services
Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology and pet behavior
Fill prescriptions, food requests, and over-the-counter products as instructed by a veterinarian
