Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to animal care.
  • Ability to think forward and approach tasks with curiosity.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
  • Proficiency in client communication and interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your skill set to the highest level in supporting the medical team.
  • Handle and restrain pets during exams safely and effectively.
  • Record accurate medical records using appropriate veterinary terminology.
  • Assist with appointments, x-rays, lab work, and various procedures.
  • Perform and complete lab work as needed.
  • Conduct radiology tasks with an understanding of appropriate fields.
  • Complete necessary medical calculations efficiently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used veterinary medications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with DVMs and coworkers for optimal patient care.
  • Communicate discharge instructions clearly to pet owners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader.
  • Engage in continuous learning and improvement of skills.
  • Model and promote a healthy work/life balance, self-compassion, and a supportive work environment free of blame and judgment.
