About The Position
At VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Internal Medicine Team. We may be part of a big company but we are a close-knit work family. We believe in high quality veterinary medicine and patient care and making that happen through dedication and learning. The position is for four, 10 hour shifts, 8:30am-7pm or 10am-8:30pm. This will include at least one weekend day (unless you are a glittery unicorn that really really wants to work Saturdays AND Sundays, which we would be happy to accommodate). Requirements

Responsibilities
- Maintaining medical records.
- Preparing for and performing procedures and treatments.
- Preparing medications and prescriptions.
- Communicating in person and on the phone with clients.
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Assisting in procedures.
- Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for hospitalized pets.
- Assisting in other areas of the hospital, as needed.
