About The Position
Pet Medical Center of Springfield is a full-service, small animal hospital delivering comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to the pets of Northern Virginia. We’re searching for a capable Veterinary Assistant (VA) to support our expanding medical team—including a new doctor starting in June. Requirements
- An Experienced Veterinary Assistant (OTJ Training) with 3+ years of clinical experience, particularly in anesthesia, dentistry, and patient care.
- Passionate about mentoring others and contributing to consistent, high-quality workflows.
- A natural leader and team player with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Eager to grow technically and emotionally in a structured and supportive environment.
- Able to accommodate flexible weekday scheduling and Saturday shifts.
- Effective communicator who contributes to a supportive, honest workplace
Responsibilities
- Support and coach fellow technicians to ensure adherence to hospital protocols and medical standards.
- Oversee daily technician workflow including anesthesia, diagnostics, surgical prep, and patient care.
- Partner with Veterinarians during exams and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and champion client communication.
- Help foster a positive, accountable, and growth-oriented team culture.
