About The Position
Advanced Veterinary Care of Plano, a small two-doctor animal practice located in Plano, TX, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal care and are eager to learn in a supportive environment. The Veterinary Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinary technicians and doctors with various tasks, ensuring the well-being of our patients and providing excellent customer service to our clients. While no prior experience is required, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role. The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to: restraining animals during examinations and procedures, preparing and administering vaccines, maintaining cleanliness in the clinic, and caring for boarding animals. Additionally, the assistant will be responsible for entering information into our paperless medical records system. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly and energetic demeanor, be drug and tobacco-free, and work well in a team-oriented environment. This position requires availability to work from Tuesday to Friday from 1 PM to 6 PM, every Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM, and rotating weekend walking duties. We are committed to providing a positive work environment and opportunities for professional growth. The salary for this position is competitive, ranging from $12 to $14 per hour, with automatic raises of $0.50 every six months. After one year of employment, employees will also be eligible for paid vacation, a generous personal pet discount, and a matching retirement plan (IRA).
