About The Position
Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital, a multi-doctor facility located in Sacramento, is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our exceptional team. This full-time position requires availability on Saturdays or Sundays, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong background in veterinary care and a passion for animal health. The successful candidate will possess excellent critical thinking skills and a commitment to professional growth within the veterinary field. Familiarity with Cornerstone software and Fear Free patient handling techniques is highly desirable, as we strive to provide a stress-free experience for both our clients and their pets. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary team by providing outstanding client service and communication. Your responsibilities will include assisting with technician appointments, performing cold laser therapy, and ensuring gentle patient handling and restraint. You will also be responsible for venipuncture, placing IV catheters, administering medications and injections, and assisting with outpatient procedures. Additionally, you will handle laboratory and pharmacy duties, monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, and ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed. Maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment is also a key aspect of this role.
