About The Position

Full-time opportunity, 40 hours weekly, in the Angell Clinic. Angell Animal Medical Center is looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician to join our Clinical Services Department! Within the department, our technicians and assistants are vital to the effective and efficient care of all patients at Angell. THE POSITION In this role, our Clinic Veterinary Technician/Assistant perform a variety of clinical tasks including phlebotomy, placement of intravenous catheters, collection of urine samples via catheterization and by ultrasound-guided cystocentesis, preparing and administering injections, and performing point-of-care testing or time sensitive testing such as glucose curves and ACTH stimulations. Our clinic team also work on the clinic floor performing safe patient restraint, admissions and discharges from the hospital, and client education. In this position you will be trained in, insulin dosing and administration, use of inhalant medications (such as those for asthma), among others. At Angell, our Clinic Team provides clinical services to all departments within Angell including a close connection to the emergency department. This is a position where you will be able to work with many different doctors and specialty or emergency services. Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician to be considered for a Technician role.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • At least one year of veterinary technician/assistant experience prefered.
  • Clear communication is essential to relaying veterinary clinical information to our clients and other hospital staff in a confident, clear manner.
