VCA Dunwoody Veterinary Center is excited to expand our leadership team and is currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant Supervisor to help guide and support our hospital staff in delivering the highest standard of care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support a collaborative team environment.
• Passion for veterinary medicine and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our medical and hospital leadership teams to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the hospital floor.
• Assist in mentoring and supporting the assistant team while continuing to provide hands-on care to our patients.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely and humanely restrain patients during procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments under veterinary direction.
• Collect and process lab samples (blood, fecal, urine, etc.).
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas.
• Accurately document patient care and progress in medical records.
• Educate clients on general pet care, medications, and post-operative instructions.
• Help foster a positive, team-oriented hospital culture.
• Support onboarding, training, and daily coordination of assistant team members.
