About The Position

We are a fun and fast paced animal hospital looking for a Client Service Representative/Veterinary Assistant to cross between both roles and join our team! 36-40 hours per week. Flexible schedule. Minimum of 2 Saturdays per month. We have two locations- Loveland and Blanchester- 15 minutes apart on State Route 28. We are looking for someone willing to work both locations (could be 50/50 split between sites). We provide high quality care to dogs, cats, exotics, reptiles, as well as sheep, goats, and birds. We have a diverse group of highly experienced DVM's that perform extensive soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, including TPLO's, lateral cruciate suture repair, orthopedic plates, pin/wire, and much more. We also do many routine spay/neuters, and emergency surgeries such as caesareans, pyometras, exploratories, splenectomies, and more!

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance.
  • Experience in veterinary care or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and a love of animals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with practice management software.
  • Knowledge of veterinary procedures and terminology.
  • Previous experience in a client service role.

Responsibilities

  • Receptionist/CSR duties including answering a multi-line phone system, taking messages for staff and doctors, checking and responding to emails, and managing online pharmacy orders.
  • Check clients in and out using Clover machine for credit cards, Care credit, Scratchpay, and cash.
  • Open and closing reports.
  • Use of practice management software - Impromed.
  • Weigh pets and place them in rooms.
  • Veterinary Assistant duties including exam room preparation, client communication and education about wellness, vaccines, flea and heartworm prevention.
  • Draw up vaccines, blood collection, fecal and urine collection.
  • Surgery pack cleaning, wrapping, and use of autoclave.
  • Anesthesia recovery and hospitalization care.
  • Give oral medications and perform animal restraint.
  • Fill medication and calculate various drugs.
  • Client communication, medical record input, invoicing, and printing and sending go home instructions.
  • Laboratory skills including I.H. IDEXX Chemistry/CBC and urinalysis.
