About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Savannah, GA is excited to welcome a Veterinary Assistant to join our Patient Care team! You will work alongside board-certified critical care specialists and other skilled veterinary professionals to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-6pm + weekend on-call once/month This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. As a Patient Care Veterinary Assistant, you will:

Responsibilities

Accurately measure and record vital signs, including heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membrane color, temperature, respiratory rate, and respiratory effort under the supervision of an RVT or DVM
Assist with phlebotomy procedures and placement of intravenous catheters
Assist with patient handling, including patient appointments, diagnostics, post-operative routine patient care, and critical patient care
Perform routine clinic operations, including surgical prep, cleaning, stocking, and general assistance as needed
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and be trained in advanced clinical skills and established protocols
Maintain strong attention to detail and accurately follow instructions
Communicate effectively with both clients and team members
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Remain open to feedback and show eagerness to grow and develop within the role
Use practice information management software, communication platforms, and other clinic technology effectively
Ensure accurate data entry and maintain clear, thorough medical records
Show willingness and ability to learn cross-functional skills, including front office support, and sterility processing

Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150.
Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year.
Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year.
Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours.
Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
