About The Position

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Experienced Veterinary Assistants (Level 2) to join our Emergency and Critical Care team. As a Veterinary Assistant Level 2 (VA2), you will be responsible for providing our clients with a top-notch experience as well as responsible for providing emergency nursing care to patients through compliance with the attending doctor's orders. You will be responsible for patient care from triage to treatments, discharge, transfer, or euthanasia. This includes participation in upkeep of cleanliness of the hospital and kennels and assisting doctors (DVMs) and technicians as needed. A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.

Requirements

• 1+ year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience working in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program.
• Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
• Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to patients as per the attending doctor's orders.
• Care for patients from triage to treatments, discharge, transfer, or euthanasia.
• Maintain cleanliness of the hospital and kennels.
• Assist doctors (DVMs) and technicians as needed.
• Ensure a top-notch experience for clients.
