The successful candidate will demonstrate the following abilities: Teach students in person through lectures, discussions, and in the lab with hands-on training Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback Develop curriculum (course outline or syllabus), plan lessons and assignments, teach courses, prepare teaching materials and labs Assesses students’ progress by grading assignments, exams, and other work Provides individual tutoring or remedial instruction to students who require it Model the CARES philosophy (Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Success) Document student notes, grades and attendance in Transcript Provide the necessary leadership to facilitate continued strength and continuity in the classroom Stay current with the guidelines set forth by ABHES, ACCSC, CAAHEP, and OSHA Assist in the implementation of the corporate philosophy, vision and mission into the written program objectives of your program Plan and schedule field trips and guest speakers Tutor students as needed Prepare lecture material one week prior to teaching. Review the day before and make sure any copies needed are made and the lab is set up. Confirm all needed supplies are available. Check out videos, etc. the day before Maintain department consumable expenses and assist in inventory control Study, evaluate and recommend the adoption of textbooks, teaching aids, materials and programs to improve instruction, working with the VA Department Head. Set the example to work with the VA community on ways to attract donors and or equipment donations for the department. Promote Brand Awareness! Create an environment of excellence in customer service with a focus on servant leadership toward students, faculty and staff Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation Advocates for and supports the college through extracurricular activities and attending events and meetings, as required (e.g., Graduation Ceremonies, Fundraising events, Open houses, Faculty Forums, Team/Department Meetings, etc.) Complete a minimum of two professional developments and two in-services Attend graduation ceremonies Perform other job related duties as assigned
